Bad Art for Bad People

It’s not easy being Sugar Weasel, people either want to fight or “fornicate” with you. The social impact was never really a consideration for me it was just schlock art. Much to my dismay, I became some sort of anti-hero for the disenfranchised. Clubs began booking me for parties women started emailing me for companionship. The whole thing was very surreal; “Sugar Weasel” was simply a performance piece that grew legs, one of many characters in my repertoire, most of which are in bad taste. It didn’t take long for Hollywood to contact me and want to package the whole thing into a tidy little formatted realty show, but even toned down it was a hard sell to network exec’s at the time. The stripper clown thing made people nervous, however it was a first glimpse into what is quickly becoming the future of realty based docu-series. Real people doing interesting or exceptional things. People are sick of celebritards. Had they pitched it for what it was, a dark & humorous look into the mind of an unconventional artist, unpolished and certainly unapologetic it would have been unique in an otherwise homogenized market , but there’s a double standard when it comes to male / female nudity. Female nudity is an acceptable form of entertainment and advertising, whereas male nudity in any form is taboo. I’m not here to try and convert anyone, I’m not selling religion.. this is just low brow performance art, you either get it… or the jokes on you pal; I’m pretty sure Damien Hirst fans could give a shit what his critics think. Really Sugar Weasel was nothing more, than a sexy ass Creature of the Black Lagoon for grownups with Attention Deficit Disorder, booty fu@k em if they can’t take a joke.
